Lightman's Currency
What it is for on Indigo
Section titled “What it is for on Indigo”Trade is a big part of what Indigo is about. Lightman’s Currency gives the server a real currency and lets you open a shop that sells for you while you are away.
The basics
Section titled “The basics”- Coins come in tiers (copper, iron, gold, emerald, diamond, netherite) that convert into each other, so a shop can charge “3 iron” without you counting stacks of copper.
- Wallet: craft one and keep it in the wallet slot. Coins you pick up go straight in, and you pay from it automatically in shops.
- Traders are the shop blocks: display case for one item, vending machine and shelf for several, card display, freezer, and more. Place one, put your stock in, set a price, and it sells to other players. They pick up items, they pay, the coins land in the trader.
- Item traders can buy as well as sell, so a shop can pay players for wheat or wool.
- Bank accounts and ATMs hold coins safely off your body. Cash registers let one counter serve several traders.
- Trader permissions let you add partners or the whole party to run a shop together.
On Indigo
Section titled “On Indigo”- How coins first enter the world (starting money, minting, buying from the town) is the owner’s call and is still being worked out; ask in the Discord for the current answer.
- A shop inside your claim is safe. Traders are protected on their own as well: only the owner and people they allow can open the stock.
- Shops in town are the point of Main Street. If you want a spot, ask.
