Where this comes from

The basics on this page come from the mod’s own documentation. Anything about how it is set up or used on Indigo is ours. When in doubt, the linked docs win.

What it is for on Indigo

Computers that run Lua, turtles that mine, farm and build, and monitors that show whatever you tell them. On Indigo it mostly sits next to the tech mods: reading a reactor, running a mine, putting a sign on a shop that updates itself.

The basics

• Craft a computer, place it, and use it: you get a shell. help and programs list what is there. Programs are Lua files you write in the built-in edit.
• Turtles are computers that move, dig, place and attack. Fuel them with coal or charcoal.
• Monitors display text and graphics; modems let computers talk to each other, wired or wireless; peripherals like a printer, disk drive or speaker plug in next to a computer.
• Many other mods’ blocks expose themselves as peripherals, which is how a computer can read a Mekanism reactor or a Create meter.

On Indigo

• Turtles obey claims like players do: they cannot dig or build inside someone else’s claim. Do not try to work around that.
• A runaway turtle strip-mining next to town is the kind of thing the house rules are about.
