JEI and Jade

Where this comes from

The basics on this page come from the mod’s own documentation. Anything about how it is set up or used on Indigo is ours. When in doubt, the linked docs win.

What they are for on Indigo

With this many mods, nobody remembers every recipe. These two make the pack browsable.

JEI (Just Enough Items)

• Open your inventory and the item list is on the right. Search at the bottom; type a mod name like create or farmer to filter to one mod.
• Hover an item and press R to see how it is made, U to see what it is used for.
• Click the + on a recipe to move the ingredients into a crafting table you have open.
• Recipes for machines (cooking pot, mixer, enrichment chamber) show up too, under that machine’s tab.

Jade

• Look at any block or mob and a small panel shows what it is, which mod it comes from, and useful state: crop growth, furnace progress, chest contents preview, a machine’s energy.
• The panel can be toggled and configured from the mod’s config screen; the default key for the toggle is listed under Options → Controls → Jade.
